Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Aielty is built to keep your family's life on your phone. This policy explains what stays on the phone, what goes to our server and why, and your rights. Data controller: [Publisher legal name], [Postal address]. Contact: [contact email].

On your phone only

Your moments, scores and notes, the notebook, badges, your children's details (birth year, nickname, sex, animal, interests), the photos of your moments and the apps you rest stay in the app's private storage. They are not sent to us.

Uninstalling the app or using 'Delete everything' erases them.

When you use our server

Your account: the email address (or the Google or Apple account) you sign in with. Then, only if you use these features, we store:

  • for Duo: your display name, role and weekly goal, and summaries of the moments you share (date, length, sticker, whether it came after work);
  • for the coupon book (Duo, once you both switch it on): the day you switched it on, the coupons you claim (which one, the day you agree on, an optional note, whether it was given) and the ones you hide, visible only to your household;
  • for the family album: the memories you add (title, sticker, date, score, photos), visible only to your household;
  • activity ratings, without your name, averaged across families and shown only from 5 families;
  • for the community: your profile (display name, optional profile photo) and the activities, comments, ratings and photos you post;
  • for meetups: the meetups you create or join, the ages (never the names) of the children who come, and the photos added to a meetup's private album;
  • for meetup safety: your confirmed mobile number (kept by our sign-in service, never shown to other parents), a one-time check-in code per meetup (visible only to you), whether you arrived, and missed-meetup strikes (visible only to you, cleared after 6 months).

Location

Only on the Ideas, Places and Meetups screens, and only if you allow it, we use your approximate location (Android's 'approximate' setting) rounded to about 11 km, to get the weather from MET Norway and to show meetups nearby. Your location is not stored.

On the Places page, distances are computed on your phone. To find places, the phone asks OpenStreetMap's public servers (FOSSGIS, Germany) for its area of about 5 km, and loads place photos from Wikimedia Commons (Wikimedia Foundation, United States). Like any website, they see your phone's internet address; nothing about it is sent to us.

When you create a meetup, it is saved with that rounded area so nearby parents can find it. The meeting point you type is shown only to the parents who join.

Photos

Photos stay on your phone unless you share them. Family album photos are visible only to your household, and meetup album photos only to the parents who joined that meetup.

Public photos (on community activities and in comments) must not show a recognisable child.

Why we use this data

To provide the features you ask for (contract); with your consent for location, sharing photos and joining the community; and for our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe (reports, blocks, moderation).

Who processes it

Supabase hosts our database, files and sign-in on servers in the European Union (Paris, France), on our behalf. Our SMS provider receives your number only to send the code, and Google confirms your identity if you sign in with Google; both may process it in the United States, under the safeguards the GDPR requires (the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). MET Norway receives the rounded location to send back the forecast. Google Play handles payments for the Family plan, under its own privacy policy.

When you invite someone from your contacts, the contact list is read on your phone only and nothing from it is sent to us.

We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

Server data is kept while you use these features. It is deleted when you delete your data in the app, when you remove the item, or, for shared items, when you leave your household.

Reported content may be kept up to 12 months for safety reasons. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

Our host keeps technical logs (including your phone's internet address) for a few days, and sign-in records for 30 days, to keep the service secure.

Children

The app is for parents. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Information about your children is entered by you and stays on your phone, except their ages when you join a meetup and the photos you choose to share.

Your rights

You can access and export your data, from your phone and from our server (Settings → Your data → Export), correct it, delete it (Delete everything), object to its use and withdraw your consent at any time.

A meetup pause is decided automatically from missed meetups (3 in 6 months). You can ask a person to review it, and explain what happened, at [contact email].

You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr)). Contact: [contact email].

Security and changes

Access rules on our server make sure only you, your household or the participants of a meetup can see what is theirs. Connections are encrypted.

We will tell you in the app about important changes to this policy.
